Why you need to know about Phoenix Heroes

If you don't know about Phoenix Heroes yet, here's why you should...

Veterans supporting veterans

Phoenix Heroes are a non-profit organisation, run by veterans to support other veterans and their families, dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). They do this primarily by running training courses and outdoor community group activities, and helping veterans to gain new employment.

Gary Stockton, who set up Phoenix Heroes in 2018, has a Military Logistics background and spent 22 years in the British Army. The project is very close to Gary's heart and he involves himself 100%, as is evident in the video above.

Phoenix Heroes are a hard-working team of veterans, family members and friends, who are dedicated to providing help and support to the nation's veterans. They've already got quite a following on social media, and are proud to have ex-SAS Big Phil Campion and Mark 'Billy' Billingham as ambassadors, but they're always looking for more support from sponsors and the public.

For Queen and Country

Watch the video, For Queen and Country, above to find out what happened when Phoenix Heroes took to the streets to find and help homeless veterans. This video is Part 1 of 2 films Phoenix Heroes made to show just how brave homeless veterans are, and how much they need our help.

Where did the name Phoenix Heroes come from?

Gary explains why they chose the name Phoneix Heroes:

"The symbolic meaning of the Phoenix is about renewal. The Phoenix is about overcoming darkness and rising from the ashes to become powerful and succeed.

One of the meanings of hero is a person noted for courageous acts or nobility of character. We see the hero being applied to any of our veterans and their families, that stay with us from the start and experience a life-changing moment at the end. In our eyes, this makes them a hero."

"We can only do what we do with the generous help of our sponsors, supporters and kind donations from the general public." Gary Stockton
